Pools and Pockets

Among the rocks, when the sea subsides,

Treasures remain, what will you find?

Water deep, water still, inviting the fingers,

Curiosity to fill.

A life all its own, each pool contains,

Crabs and creatures in their own domain.

A starfish, a mussel, a barnacle too,

Weed of the sea, a snail, shell of blue.

Look with delight, look with care,

You might even find something to share.

The gift of the sea, these pools give to you,

Come, see them again, discover anew.
